The International Traditional Karate Federation represents millions of athletes in the sport of Traditional Karate throughout more than 70 Countries around the World. In Poland its National Federation Member, Traditional Karate Federation of Poland, is the second largest Sport Governing Body in the country – surpassed only by football.
At the end of the Juan Antonio Samaranch regime as IOC President, the IOC broke its own rules of recognition and commitments made during its 101st Session Congress to this sport federation. Under the leadership of IOC President, Juan Antonio Samaranch, the IOC also ignored the findings and recommendations of its own Court of Arbitration. The current regime has proven to be a mere extension of the former and is now considering the kicking and punching activity of the World Karate Federation (WKF) for inclusion in the Olympic Games – the IOC’s latest broken commitment. The International Traditional Karate Federation intends to pursue all options and remedies to stop this action.
