The 6th Traditional Karate ITKF World Cup took place on 11 June 2011 in the Sport Hall ‘Gdynia’ in Gdynia (Poland).
Top men’s and women’s traditional karate athletes from 9 countries selected by the Technical Committee of the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF) competed in the World Cup.
On Saturday, 11th June 2011 Gdynia (Poland) hosted a superb traditional karate athletes from 9 countries who competed for the victory in the 6th World Cup in Traditional Karate. Honorary patronage over the competition took: Mayor of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek and Marshal of the Pomeranian Mieczysław Struk. World Cup competitions honored with his presence Mr. Richard Jorgensen – President of the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF).
The fights proceeded at a very high technical level. Włodzimierz Kwieciński – Vice-President of the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF) and Chairman of the Traditional Karate Federation of Poland summed up the start of the athletes, saying: "I am very pleased that the winner won by the technical points, through the art of Traditional Karate. It is important to me. I’m glad I saw these beautiful shares.".
Among women in the fight against the final victory in the World Cup won Justyna Marciniak, beating an experienced athlete, world champion in the individual kata Vira Kucherenko from Ukraine. Justyna Marciniak concluded her start: "Just as at the last Polish Traditional Karate Championship I didn’t think to win at all costs. I didn’t psych negatively to the contestants. I tried just to show my best karate and exactly what I have worked so hard for the last time. World Cup for me was one of the stages of preparation before the world championships that will be held next year in Poland.". Marta Niewczas and Maria Depta fought for the third place. This struggle won Maria Depta, who replaced the absent Augustine Scartascini from Argentina.
Among men, also won rookie in World Cup competitions – Damian Stasiak, who defeated in the final Canadian Todd Parker. The representative of Poland Łukasz Wójcik failed to defend the title from two years ago. This time he took third place, beating the Ukraine’s athlete Volodymyr Sidorov. "I could not defend the title, but I managed to start and it is for me the experience for the future. I hadn’t so-called sport luck to get to the final. You have to look at the whole and to draw the consequences "- said after start.

In the World Cup start the athletes appointed by the Technical Committee of the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF). Competitions are set by the individual cup system. 8 players and 8 female players start in the technical events (kitei, kata) and in close combat – they must demonstrate a comprehensive technical preparation. World Cup competitions are held every two years.
