Signing the charter of foundation

On 23 May 2003 the ceremony of signing the charter of foundation of Japanese Martial Arts’ Training Centre “Dojo – Stara Wies” (transl. “Dojo – Old Village”) took place in a village Stara Wies, in the commune council of Przedborz, the district of Lodz (Poland).

In the ceremony there participated many eminent persons. We hosted Mr. Hidetaka Nishiyama – Chairman of International Traditional Karate Federation, Mr. Vladimir Jorga – President of European Traditional Karate Federation, representatives of the Embassy of Japan, Ministry of the National Education and Sport, Polish Sport Confederation, Polish Budo Association and representatives of the local authorities. During the ceremony the supporting letter from Mr. Leszek Miller – the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland was read out.

The key point of the ceremony was signing the charter of foundation by all participants of the event. All visitors also had a chance to see the simulated presentation of the centre in space, during which they admired the surrounding natural environment which showed its outgoing beauty.

We are glad the idea of the centre met with support of many noble persons. We hope the centre will soon serve for all existing in Poland Japanese martial arts and sports.
