Great success of the national team of Poland during ETKF European Championship
Traditional karate national team of Poland achieve great success during 26th Traditional Karate European Championship of Seniors and 9th Traditional Karate European Championship of Cadets and Juniors, which took place on 4-5 June 2005 in Cosicua (Malta). Polish team brought 20 medals won in categories of seniors, juniors and cadets – 10 golden, 5 silver and 5 bronze ones. We are most happy with the performance of seniors, who managed to outrun the Italian team, which has been dominant in Europe so far. Our new European champions are: Karolina Kotala in fuku-go, Lukasz Wojcik in kumite, Krystian Grzejszczak and Michal Wronski in mixed en-bu and women’s team kata – Katarzyna Krzywanska, Iwona Furmanek and Joanna Szeremeta. In general clasification seniors won 4 golden medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze ones, juniors – 3 golden, 3 silver ones and cadets – 3 golden and 3 bronze ones.
In the European championships there participated 232 competitors from 21 countries.
Next European championships in 2006 will be held in Poland, in Rzeszow.
