CEREMONY OF PUTTING IN STONE THE CHARTER OF FOUNDATION OF JAPANESE MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING CENTRE
On 28 May 2004 the ceremony of putting in stone the charter of foundation of Japanese Martial Arts’ Training Centre “Dojo – Stara Wies” (transl. “Dojo – Old Village”) took place. The event was held in the village Stara Wies (Poland), where the new centre is presently being built.
The ceremony has been composed with official signature of an agreement of allocation from the Government of Japan. The act was signed by: Mrs. Mitsuko Shino – Counsellor in the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Tadeusz Kozek – Under-Secretary of State in the Office of the Committee for European Integration and Mr. Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski – Chairman of Traditional Karate Federation of Poland.
Sensei Nishiyama – Chairman of International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF), who deeply supports the idea of the centre, was the honorary guest of the ceremony. There also participated: Mr. Akihiko Sato – 2nd Secretary in the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Vladimir Jorga – Preisdent of European Traditional Karate Federation (ETKF), Mr. Tadeusz Bartkowiak – General Director of the Polish Post, Mr. Jerzy Machejek – Chief Adviser of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Banasiak – representative of the Ministry of National Edcation and Sport, Mr. Mieczyslaw Bigoszewski – representative of the Polish Sport Confederation, who read ou a letter from Mr. Andrzej Krasnicki – Chairman of the Polish Sport Confederation. Moreover, we hosted Mr. Stanislaw Witaszczyk – Marshal of Lodz Voivodeship, Mr. Wojciech Slusarczyk – Mayor of Przedborz Town and Commune, Mr. Jerzy Pomianowski – long-term ambassador of Poland in Japan, Mr. Jerzy Szmit – Director of the Fund of Lodz Region for Environment Protection, Mrs. Halina Pacwa – Chairman of Polish – Japanese Society and Mr. Maciej Grubski – representative of Mr. Miroslaw Drzewiecki, who read out an official letter on behalf of Mr. Miroslaw Drzewiecki – Chairman of Parliamentary Commission for Physical Education and Sport.
Japanese Martial Arts’ Training Centre “Dojo – Stara Wies” is going to be a place serving to representatives of Japanese martial arts and sports from Europe and all the world. The centre will consist of a training dojo situated on the peak of a hill and a small village on the hill-side, surrounded by the Japanese garden. The Centre will unite with the landscape, keeping unusual values of that place, and the neighbouring panorama will be magnificent background for shaping and strenghtening one’s character through intensive training.
The official guests, who did not sign the charter of founadtion last year, put their signatures into the Guests’ Book “Dojo – Stara Wies”.
After the official part a picnic for all participants started.
