An official visit to Japan – Tokyo and Okinawa
From February 18 to March 4, 2013, Mr. Włodzimierz Kwieciński was on an official visit to Japan – Tokyo and Okinawa.
The aim of the visit was to establish a sister relationships in Japan – the birthplace of karate, with the intention of making it possible to organize Shuri Castle Renaissance Karate Cup on Okinawa. During the visit, Mr. Kwieciński participated in many meetings with the esteemed representatives of the Japanese government responsible for sports and culture, as well as businesspeople interested in dealings with Poland. He also visited historic sites important for the development of karate.
"It was a very emotional journey to the very origins of karate on Okinawa and in Japan." – said Mr. Kwiecinski. The crowning privilege during the visit was the opportunity to perform kata training in the courtyard of Shuri Castle – the historic birthplace of karate.
